Illustrations that always hit the spot!

Hello! My name’s Elaine Macintyre, aka LeopardyNonsense. I’m an illustrator from Edinburgh and I sell cute greetings cards, prints and gifts featuring happy animals drawn by me. I have an MA in Children’s Book Illustration and infuse all my work with the simple joy and humour of a picture book.

Animal ABC

My animal ABC letters are available as bespoke commissions, with the letter and colour of your choice. I can also add text celebrating special events like the arrival of a new baby or a birthday, or create a whole name using the animal alphabet. Perfect for nurseries and children’s rooms!

Individual letters are printed by the lovely people at Edinburgh community printers Bare Branding as fine art giclee prints (which means you can hang them anywhere you like and they’ll never fade). They come mounted and ready to frame and cost just £16 + P&P.

If you’re interested, please get in touch.

Custom designs and logos

I love drawing special animal designs for cards and invitations! Whether it’s your dog on a Christmas card or your guinea pig on a birthday party invite, I can create something really personal and charming for you. Planning a party? I can also create matching stickers and badges for inclusion in goodie bags and can arrange for your bespoke design to be printed on a range of merchandise, from banners to balloons, plates to party bags.

“Thank you Elaine, [the logos are] spot on! I’m really happy with them, they’ll look great on business cards, letterheads and opening credits alike!”

“It is perfection! Seriously, I can’t thank you enough.”

“Just wanted to say thank you so much for the lovely picture of Tag… I absolutely love it, even though I burst out crying when I first saw it, you captured him perfectly.”

“Just wanted to say thanks again for doing the portrait. They both loved it and even got a bit emotional, saying you captured their dog really well.”
